Staff and Skills for Independent Living learners from Academy Transformation Trust Further Education, based at Sutton Community Academy, came together to celebrate the festive period in a YULE gathering.

After the success of their summer celebration event, learners had a winter celebration looking at different cultures and how they celebrate Christmas.

The theme was embedded throughout the autumn programme where learners all worked towards the YULE gathering. YULE was chosen to represent Your Unique Learning Experience. where all classes contributed towards the event by baking, creating decorations, singing and performing subject-related sketches.

The highlight of the celebration was the Band Aid hit Do They Know it’s Christmas, which saw the Film-making group edit and create their own version of the music video, featuring staff and learners from the academy. Their work received a standing ovation.
