The Care Quality Commission (CQC) would like to hear from the public about their experience of services at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The views and experiences of patients will help inspectors decide what to look for when they visit King’s Mill Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital in April.
The inspectors are holding two listening events on Wednesday 23rd April at Mansfield and Newark – the Lindhurst Rooms, Mansfield Civic Centre, and Newark Town Hall, both at 6.30pm.
To attend one of the events, complete the online form at www.cqc.org.uk or call 03000 616161. People can also turn up to the events without registering.
Anyone who is unable to attend but wishes to give their views to the inspection team can email [email protected] or call 03000 616161.
Sherwood Forest Hospitals is one of 20 acute trusts across the country being inspected as part of wave three of the CQC’s new inspection regime.
The Chief Inspector of Hospitals, Professor Sir Mike Richards, announced in July that he will lead significantly larger inspection teams headed by a senior NHS clinician or executive, working alongside senior CQC inspectors. The teams include professional and clinical staff and other experts, including trained members of the public.
The inspection team will spend at least two full days at the Trust looking at areas that deliver acute services as well as eight core service areas. These are A&E, acute medical pathways including the frail elderly, surgery and theatres, critical care, maternity, paediatrics, end of life care and outpatients.
Paul O’Connor, Chief Executive of Sherwood Forest Hospitals, said: “We welcome this visit from the CQC so we can demonstrate the excellent work and progress that has been made since June 2013 – in which we have made real and lasting change.”
A full report of the findings from Sherwood Forest Hospitals will be published by the CQC.
