People are being invited to mark the World Day of Prayer 2022 at Rosemary Street Baptist Church, Mansfield.

The World Day of Prayer worship service on Friday, 4th March at 10am has a special annual theme.

It is developed by women of a different country each year and gives an opportunity to share ideas and reach out in love and fellowship.

The Rev Maria Pap, a member of the Organising Committee, Mansfield, said: “Last year, because of the pandemic, the World Day of Prayer was held virtually, but now we are looking forward to meeting in person once again, especially as this year’s topic was prepared by women from England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

“Presenting the three countries — landscape, people and culture shaped by history — has been both challenging and rewarding, but it gives an opportunity to celebrate our diversity and the contribution made to our countries by the many groups and individuals who have made their home here.

“World Day of Prayer material is based on the Bible text ‘I know the plans I have for you’, from Jeremiah, to reflect on some of the issues facing us today — poverty, domestic abuse and disability, finding hope in difficult situations and encouragement in the help we can give to each other.”
