Music, laughs and more at Mansfield Palace Theatre

Music tribute acts head up a new season at Mansfield Palace Theatre with February full of varied, family entertainment.

These include the Ultimate Classic Rock Show on Friday 7th, The Elton John Show on Saturday 8th, Spice Girls Experience on Saturday 15th, Twist and Shout on Friday 21st, and A Vision of Elvis on Thursday 27th.

On Valentine’s Day, Friday 14th, Flowers and Friendship Bracelets is a tribute to Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter.

The theatre’s classical programme continues with Music in the Round presenting two shows on Monday 17th — The Giddy Goat (11am), bringing a children’s book of the same name to life through original music, and Mozart Masterpieces (7.30pm), featuring string players alongside horn and clarinet, performing three of Mozart’s most cherished masterpieces, Clarinet Quintet, Horn Quintet, and String Quintet in G.

Comedy Club 4 Kids is at the theatre during school half-term on Tuesday 18th, followed by the regular Comedy Store on Saturday 22nd.

Award-winning comedian Phil Walker is bringing his Happy Bunny stand-up tour to the Palace on Saturday, 1st March.

Wickedly Ariana, on Wednesday 19th, will see Hannah Thomas with her band and dancers take theatregoers on a journey of all Ariana Grande’s greatest hits, plus songs from the blockbuster movie and musical fantasy Wicked.

Panto returns on Saturday 22nd with TaleGate Theatre Productions’ spring panto, The Frog Prince.
Mariposa DeNada Dance Theatre will present a modern remake of Puccini’s Madame Butterfly on Friday 28th, a groundbreaking LGBTQ+ dance-opera set in Cuba.

Local talent will also be on the Palace stage when its Senior Youth Theatre presents Port Manteau on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th, while Mansfield Operatic Society will perform The Wizard of Oz, from Wednesday 5th to Sunday, 9th March.

The Exhibition on Screen series, in conjunction with Mansfield Museum, continues in the Leeming Lounge on Friday 28th for a showing of the life and works of Frida Kahlo.
