An exhibition highlighting the role played by animals in war will be at the Old Meeting House, Mansfield, in September.
Animals In War, which will run from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th September, will feature a lifesize sculpture of the famous war horse, Warrior, who served in the first world war.
There will be photographs and information of horses, camels, dogs, pigeons, canaries and mice that also served in conflicts.
The exhibition at the Old Meeting House, built in 1702 and the oldest non-conformist place of worship in Nottinghamshire, will be part of the chapel’s open days as it takes in part in the annual national Heritage Weekend.
