Northern Ballet’s new children’s work, Hansel & Gretel, is comings to Mansfield Palace Theatre on Tuesday, 29th April — with performances at 1pm and 5pm.
In the environment-themed reimagining of the classic Brothers Grimm fairytale, Hansel and Gretel take a trip into the forest, unaware of the damage they leave behind. When they get lost, the siblings meet spirited friends who teach them how to better look after the planet.
For the ballet, the technical and wardrobe teams were challenged to use only recycled, repurposed or sustainable resources — the Rubbish Monster costume has repurposed around 400 used bottles and 250 used cans.
Tickets, priced £8 for children and £10 for adults, are at www.mansfieldpalace.co.uk or call the box office on 01623 463133.
