The 1861 Suite at One Call Stadium, Mansfield, is the latest live music venue to bring high-quality events and stage shows to Mansfield.
It has revealed that the world-famous West End stage show That’s The Way It Was is to come to the home of Mansfield Town FC in the summer.
The suite will be transformed on the night to become a theatre-style seating venue.
The show represents the original songs that featured in Elvis’ most popular era, the Vegas years, and highlights what was captured in the famous documentary That’s The Way It Was.
Starring leading Elvis performer Pete Storm, the show promises to take the audience on a journey through some of Elvis’ finest performances, including the 1968 comeback special event and the critically-acclaimed performance in 1970 at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Paul Nyland, commercial manager at Mansfield Town, said: “We simply can’t believe that we have secured the booking of this tremendous show.
“This show usually graces the stage at Leicester Square and major venues around the globe, but we are bringing it to our new 1861 Suite here at One Call Stadium.”
Paul said: “This is just one of many great events that we have lined up. We have also booked Europe’s best David Bowie tribute band, Absolute Bowie, for Saturday, 21st May.”
Other events that are due to be staged at the Stags’ new 1861 Suite include TV Funnyman Patrick Monahan bringing his The Disco Years UK tour on 21st April, tickets priced £12 per person. The Legend of Darts tournament returns on Friday, 29th April with guest appearances from Steve ‘Bronzed Adonis’ Beaton and Colin ‘Jaws’ Lloyd.
The Elvis show is lined up for Saturday, 2nd July and all the details for this and other events can be found on the club’s website, www.mansfieldtown.net, (see events section) or on its Facebook events page, ‘Entertainment One Call Stadium’.
