THE Clipstone Colliery Regeneration Group, which is campaigning for the retention of the headstocks, has several social events planned for this year.

On 11th April, people are invited to the Village Hall, from noon, to take old photos and memories for the village archive.

Former miners and their families who remember the miners’ summer outings are also urged to get in touch with their memories, email [email protected]

On 4th May, there is a May Day picnic at Vicar Water Country Park from noon, email [email protected] or details.

On 18th July, the Clipstone Community Gala will take place from 11am on the football pitch adjacent to the Village Hall. Stalls are available. Email [email protected] for details.
