Wellbeing week at ATTFE College

Posted onPosted on 29th Oct

Academy Transformation Trust Further Education (ATTFE) held a Wellbeing Week across its four campuses – including Sutton Community Academy; Dukeries Academy, Ollerton; and Portland College, Mansfield – in recognition of World Mental Health Day.

Staff and learners raised awareness of mental health and took part in a variety of fun and informative wellbeing activities.

The week started with staff receiving wellbeing boxes of gratitude cards in recognition of their hard work.  Relaxation and meditation classes, along with creative activities designed to reduce stress and anxiety, proved popular.

Daily themes such as ‘Make it Count Monday’ and ‘Thoughtful Thursday’ focused on topics that help to boost wellbeing, such as positive thinking and goal setting.

Katie Barrett, head of learner experience, said: “Wellbeing has always been a huge focus for us and continues to be a priority. This week allows us to devote time to raising awareness of mental health, while providing staff and learners with tips and strategies that they can easily incorporate into their daily life to reduce stress and promote a healthy and happy wellbeing.

“It’s a time where we can express thanks to our wonderful staff who go above and beyond to support learners and we have a fantastic range of resources available on our website and YouTube channel, which staff, learners and the community can access anytime.

“It was a fabulous week with the highlight seeing staff and learners come together to dress in yellow as part of the Young Mind’s ‘Hello Yellow’ campaign.”

Fundraising activities have raised £202 so far.
