Walk with Rotary to help end polio

Posted onPosted on 12th Oct

Mansfield Rotary is urging people of all ages to Walk A Mile To End Polio.

It is holding a fundraising walk at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield, on Sunday, 23rd October at 11am.

Rotarians hope that everyone who takes part will donate £1 and a collection bucket will be available at the start.

Pat Carlan,  chairman of Mansfield Harriers, has allowed Mansfield Rotary to use the track at Berry Hill Park for the walk. He suggests people walk their first lap around the track, the second and third laps on the pathway that surround the track, and the fourth and last lap on the track.

There is no need to register, just turn up at BHP in time for the walk to start at 11am.

It is hoped that everyone who takes part will donate just £1. A collection bucket will be available at the start.

Rotary has been working towards eradicating polio across the world for many years and the aim of the fundraising this year through Walk A Mile To End Polio  is for each Rotary district to raise £3,000.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will double the collective total.
