Volunteers are being urged to sign up for Clumber Park Memory Walk to help support a total of more than 4,000 people expected to register to fight for a world without dementia.
Hundreds of walkers have already decided to take part with the figure growing by the day and Alzheimer’s Society is looking to more than double the number of helpers who have so far stepped forward.

Rachel Rogers, Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk officer, said: “We rely on people giving their time to help us to create a wonderful day and while dozens of volunteers have already come forward we need to find many more.”
The new Clumber Park Memory Walk is on Saturday, 1st October and the Nottingham Memory Walk on Saturday, 10th September – and walkers and volunteers can sign up for either at memorywalk.org.uk
“We want to find 99 more volunteers for Clumber Park, which is a new walk this year,” said Rachel. “Around 80 people have put their names in as helpers at Nottingham, where we would like to add another 50.
“Helpers provide support in a variety of roles and we have something to suit everyone ranging from marshalling to handing out medals to walkers on completing their choice of a three or eight kilometre distance.
“Memory Walk is a vital part of raising money for Alzheimer’s Society to provide services for people living with dementia and to fund research,” said Rachel.
“We are walking to help people today and for a future without dementia.”
