Fundraisers Margaret Howlett (left)and Di Milner — known as George’s Army — continued to turn ‘rubbish’ into charity money last year.
To mark their efforts, they presented a cheque for £3,500 to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, North Anston.
The duo have been raising money for good causes for 17 years. Using donated materials that might otherwise go to landfill, they make personal and household accessories plus other goods.
These are sold at Sherwood Street market in Nottingham on the third Saturday of each month and at a farmers’ market in Sharrowvale, Sheffield.
Margaret and Di said: “We are now in our 17th year and would like to thank ROMO, Mansfield Marquees, Team Tots, Crystal Knitwear and Label Traders for their continued support. Also a big thank you to our very supportive group of friends.”
