Dedicated fundraisers Di Milner and Margaret Howlett — known as George’s Army — continued to turn ‘rubbish’ into charity money in 2023.

‘The duo, who have been raising money for good causes for several years, are pictured with a £3,000 cheque they presented Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, North Anston.

Using donated materials that might otherwise go to landfill, they make personal and household accessories. These are sold at a street market in Nottingham and a farmers market in Sheffield.
