Staff from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Sutton have continued to help Portland Charity and its work transforming the lives of people with disabilities.
Armed with paintbrushes, the Amazon team gave Independent Living flats and communal areas at the charity a fresh look, also upcycling furniture.
Independent Living manager Maggie Waring said: “The communal area has now been transformed into a warm, family lounge. We are very grateful for Amazon’s support and look forward to welcoming them back.”
Amazon volunteers have also made various donations to support Portland Charity’s learners and citizens, with some items used as prizes for fundraising tombolas and at a Portland pop-up shop the Charity has set up internally for its staff.
Sean Montgomery, who works at the fulfilment centre and is a volunteer with Portland Charity, added: “At Amazon we are proud to have supported Portland Charity. We have witnessed the amazing work the charity does and the positive impact it has on learners and the wider community.
“We are honoured to be part of Portland’s journey and look forward to our continued partnership.”
Vivek Khanka, general manager at Amazon Sutton, said: “It has been a pleasure to support Portland Charity this year.
“Sean and our team of volunteers are passionate supporters of the charity and we’re proud to support the positive impact they have on our community.”
