Children at a hospital are to benefit from an annual toy appeal.

Mansfield 103.2 presented a toys and a cheque for more than £3,000 to King’s Mill Hospital from their 13th year of fundraising.

The radio station asked listeners and businesses to make donations and organised collection points around the area.

Claire Roberts, play specialist on the children’s ward at the Sutton hospital, said: “We rely a lot on donations to the ward and we are thankful to everyone who has taken the time to donate to the annual toy appeal.

“Having a variety of toys available helps give a sense of normality to children in what can be a very strange and scary situation for them.”
