As part of anniversary celebrations in its 75th year, the Mansfield and District Male Voice Choir completed a successful mini-tour of Oxford and Basingstoke.

Flying the flag once again for the district, the choir sang in two separate joint concerts with Oxford Welsh MVC and Basingstoke Hospital MVC.

The choir also performed an informal concert at The University Church, Oxford.

Delighting audiences, the men from Mansfield performed a selection of traditional pieces at the concerts and also sang two specially-commissioned pop songs — Africa, a Toto hit from the 80s, and Shine, a Take That favourite.

“It was quite possibly the best tour we’ve ever organised,” said Ian Grice, musical director.
