Students from Mansfield’s The Beech Academy went on a fishing trip to Sherwood Forest Fishery in Mansfield and set up their tackle and fishing stations on Langdale Lake, which is ideal for beginner anglers.
The team-building day was part of preparations for their transition to sixth form education in September.
The Environment Agency donated the fishing equipment that will be used on further fishing trips.
Head Adrian O’Malley said: “Our students got to experience a new outdoor activity that many hadn’t done before.”
Year 11 student Jack O’Shea said: “The day was exciting, enjoyable and relaxing.”
