Thousands watched Mansfield panto

Almost 32,000 people watched festive pantomime Aladdin at Mansfield Palace Theatre — and already more than 10 per cent of tickets have been sold for 2025’s production Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Ben Harlow, who played Widow Twankey in Aladdin, said: “It was lovely to see so many schoolchildren mesmerised at the story, have the time of their lives, cheer, boo, sing, and dance.”

He added the technical team at the theatre was the best in the business.

Coun Stuart Richardson, portfolio holder for Regeneration and Growth at Mansfield District Council, which operates the theatre, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many people choosing to enjoy top-quality entertainment at Mansfield Palace Theatre’s pantomime.

“In today’s economic climate, we never take it for granted that people choose to spend their time and money with us.

“We went with friends and we all thought it was hilarious, particularly the balloon scene! Whether it’s families returning year after year or those coming for the first time, we are so proud of the feedback received — both the venue and its staff are such wonderful assets for our town”.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs runs from Saturday, 22nd November to Wednesday, 31st December and tickets can be bought at www.mansfield.gov.uk/palacetheatre/panto

Before then the theatre is hosting pantos in February and March — The Frog Prince on Saturday, 22nd February and Pinocchio on Sunday, 13th April.

And this month there are two further pantos thanks to amateur theatre groups. Westfield Folkhouse is presenting Cinderella, from 11th to 19th January, and Mansfield Hospitals Theatre Troupe will perform Jack and the Magical Beanstalk between 25th January and 1st February.
