A Stormtrooper from hit film franchise Star Wars was a surprise member of the bin crews in Mansfield on Tuesday morning.

A member of the Mansfield District Council team donned the outfit to lift lockdown spirits.

The council said: “The Force is with our bin crews in Mansfield today.

“We may not have the Millennium Falcon but if you see one of our trusty bin lorries, give the crew a wave and a smile.

“Hopefully it’ll help bring a little light to the Dark Side when you feel their presence.

“May the Force be with you!”
