Take part in Great North Run for Rainbows

Posted onPosted on 1st Feb

People in Nottinghamshire wanting to take part in the AJ Bell Great North Run can snap up a charity place with Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

The ballot for the world’s most iconic half-marathon is open with an entry fee of £64 and hopefuls will find out if they have a place in February. But Rainbows has guaranteed places with a lower entry fee of £30, and a minimum fundraising target.

By signing up to run on behalf of the charity, on Sunday 10 September, your sponsorship will be helping to support babies, children and young people with serious and terminal illnesses. Every step you take during the half-marathon will help to brighten short lives, right here in the East Midlands.

Claire Hoggan, Rainbows events fundraiser, said: “The AJ Bell Great North Run is a fabulous event and we are delighted to be able to offer so many places for people to run on behalf of Rainbows. Not only will you be taking on an incredible personal challenge by running in one of the world’s most iconic races, you will also be helping to raise funds to care for those families who desperately need our support and we can’t thank you enough for that.

“By raising a minimum sponsorship of £300 you could pay for our physiotherapist to spend four sessions with a child in our hydrotherapy pool.

“Everyone who takes part will get a Rainbows running top, support during and after the event, including help with your fundraising and the opportunity to join Team Rainbows Zoom calls before the race to share details of the day and to meet fellow runners. We will also be in the event village on race day to support you after the race.”
