Shireoaks Sports and Social Club has received £500 from The Mansfield Building Society’s Community Support Scheme towards the second phase of its upgrade, replacing pavilion doors and windows.
The pavilion is used by football and bowls teams along with visitors, an indoor games league and country music club. Various local organisations also use the pavilion for meetings and fundraising events.
Rachel Barrowcliffe, of the club, said: “We are grateful to The Mansfield for providing these fund,s which have allowed us to complete this phase of our project. The next step is to replace the exterior cladding and insulate the walls, which is our target for 2016.”
The Mansfield’s Information Systems Manager, Brian Seddons, said: “The Mansfield is pleased to help a club that supports people of all ages in our local area. The commitment given so far to raise funds for this project is great to see and we wish them well with the next phase of the project.”
