The Dukeries Academy, Ollerton, has received £600 from The Mansfield Building Society’s Community Support Scheme.

The money will go towards the academy’s work with Camps International to provide learning and developing opportunities for young people.

Nico Burns, of the academy, said: “We thank The Mansfield for providing these funds, which will allow us to purchase specific rucksacks to be used for our Peru expedition, and then by future groups who will go on similar expeditions.”

The Mansfield’s chief executive, Gev Lynott, said: “The academy opens up new experiences for people who would not ordinarily be able to afford to go on this type of expedition. It’s great to see children fully committed to fundraising activities both inside and outside of school.”
