Students raising money for charity

Fourteen students and two leaders on a National Citizen Service (NCS) course, based at West Notts College, Mansfield, are holding a series of sporting fundraisers to raise money for two charities — The Hall Homeless Support Project, Mansfield, and PACE (Project for Advocacy, Counselling and Education), a mental health charity specialising in LGBT and young people.

The fundraisers — the leaders are aged 17 and 19 and the group members are aged 16 and 17 — are staging four six-hour sport sessions, including Just Dance, dodgeball, volleyball and basketball, at the college from Monday to Thursday next week, from 9am-3pm.

A spokesman said donations would be greatly appreciated, go to www.justgiving.com/teamrylan-ncs to help.

The members of the fundraising team included, back row, Jake Walters, Owen Lawton, Hannah Carnell, Jasmine Partridge, Kay Jay Rose, Sophie Carroll (mentor), Olivia Daniells, Bea Evans-Braddow, Tegan Hufton, Charlotte Carter, Darius Walker and Cieran Renshaw. Front, Ryan Walters, Sam Aram. The leader, not pictured, was Ryan Higginbotham.
