Year six students from King Edward Primary School, Mansfield, took part in an interactive two-day Little Genius Project at The Brunts Academy, funded by Nottinghamshire County Council.
It was presented with the help of employers Lindhurst Innovation Engineering, Asmech Systems Ltd, Jephsons Shopfitters UK, Avonside, Lukas at Work and Food Science Fusion.
Students went through a carousel of employer-led interactive workshops to find out more about their products and the type of jobs needed in the workplace.
Shane Gunstone, managing director for Asmech Systems, said: “Employers in the engineering and manufacturing sector believe it is important to influence children in primary schools to consider the career opportunities that are relevant to economic growth.”
Students completed their first mini CV and received a little genius star badge, certificate of achievement and goody bag.
