Stags win seven-goal thriller with late show

Posted onPosted on 3rd Oct

Magnificent Mansfield Town came from two goals down in a terrific match at Dagenham and Redbridge to win their second away League Two match in five days.

Mal Benning’s volley gave the Stags an early lead with his second goal of the season, but they then quickly fell 3-1 behind, despite dominating play in an attacking match full of chances.

Matt Green’s penalty – their first successful spot kick in 104 matches – gave the visitors hope of a comeback before half-time.

They then dominated the second-half, but had to wait until the final 10 minutes to get the points their display deserved.

Krystian Pearce’s header from an Adam Chapman corner levelled and then substitute Adi Yussuf fired in the winner, also his first league goal for the Stags, with a great run and low shot.
