Stags spread Christmas cheer at hospital

Posted onPosted on 12th Dec

Players from Mansfield Town Football Club visited the children’s ward at King’s Mill Hospital to hand out gifts to patients and meet with families and staff ahead of Christmas.

The Stags squad, along with manager Nigel Clough and his staff, arrived with bundles of presents and also posed for photos as they shared some Christmas cheer.

Nigel said: “It was lovely to come to see the patients, parents and staff and we hope all the children can be home in time for Christmas.

“Most of our players have young children themselves and it hits home when they see young children in hospital at this time of year especially.”

Captain Alfie Kilgour added: “Hopefully this visit has given the children a boost ahead of Christmas.

“As players, we’re ambassadors of Mansfield Town Football Club and a visit such as this is the least we can do.

“It was a privilege to see the children and spread some positivity and joy.”

Last month, director Paul Brown, boss Nigel, and first-team players Aden Flint, Lee Gregory and Louis Reed visited the hospital in support of World Premature Day. Tickets and signed gifts were delivered to the ward as they met families with premature babies.
