Mansfield Town’s pre-season friendly against Birmingham City on Saturday was on Friday cancelled following advice from Nottinghamshire Police.

After a renewed risk assessment by Nottinghamshire Police on Thursday, safety concerns were raised and, as a result of the level of police resources deemed necessary to stage the fixture, the club said it was not financially viable to proceed.

Mansfield said both clubs were disappointed that the decision was taken at such a late stage.

Supporters wishing to obtain refunds on match tickets should go to the main ticket office at One Call Stadium.

Refunds will be available from 10am on Monday, 21 July.

In a statement, the Stags apologised for the inconvenience the cancellation had caused.
