The Samworth Church Academy’s year 8 boys’ rugby team won the County Cup for a second successive season.
The Mansfield boys won all their group games to represent the Mansfield district at the event at Mellish Rugby Club.
In their pool Samworth beat the Minster School, Southwell, by one try to nil and defeated Rushcliffe 1-0 and Meden 3-2.
In the semi-final Samworth beat Trinity School 1-0 and overcame Outwood Grange Portland 2-1 in the final
Mr Bury, PE teacher at Samworth, said: “I am immensely proud of all the players. They have worked so hard since joining the Academy and to win back-to-back titles is a testament to their hard work and commitment”.
