Mansfield Town have signed versatile midfielder Junior Brown on a permanent deal until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has impressed during five appearances since joining from Oxford United on an initial loan in late November.
He collected two sponsors’ Man-of-the-Match awards in both home games in which he played.
Brown, who has played out on the wing and in an attacking-midfield role, has signed a deal until the end of the season, subject to clearance from the Football Association and Football League. The club also has an option to activate a clause to extend his contract, if necessary.
Manager Adam Murray said this afternoon: “After a lot of hard work, we have managed to secure the signature of Junior Brown.
“Over the past few weeks, I am sure that our fans will have seen what Junior ‘brings to the table.’
“He is a superb footballer with excellent ability and understands what it takes to be successful.”
On potential more acquisitions, the manager added: “Before this transfer window opened, my objective was to bring in a balance of Football League experience and nous, and also the energy and enthusiasm of youth. I am on course to doing that.”
