The Mansfield Building Society’s Community Support Scheme has awarded the Rainworth-based Detached Youth Project £400 towards buying sporting equipment.

The group works with young people aged four to 19 to advance their social education by providing structured activities that would ordinarily be financially unavailable to them.

Jodie Hoggard, of Detached Youth Project, said: “We would like to thank The Mansfield for funds to purchase outdoor equipment and games. The group is run by volunteer youth workers and meets two evenings a week, every weekend and during school holidays.”

The Mansfield’s marketing co-ordinator, Mandy Whitten, pictured with the group, said: “The structured youth work sessions improving their confidence, team work, art, health and well being through a range of sporting activities.”
