Leading dedicated hearing specialist Amplifon celebrated the opening of its new branch in Sutton’s Idlewells Shopping Centre by providing free drinks, goody bags and a tour of its state-of-the-art facilities.

Visitors were given the opportunity to try out its usual free service accompanied with tea and biscuits and a little open day fun, in the form of competitions and giveaways.

Idlewells’ manager Chloe O’Donnell put herself forward for the first tests of the day, including a two-minute initial hearing assessment followed by a more in-depth video otoscope inspection inside the ear.

“I volunteered to have my ears inspected on video out of curiosity,” explained Chloe. “It’s quite amazing what you can see on the screen.”

If the results show that a hearing aid is required, Amplifon provides a free demonstration of aids made by the world’s leading manufacturers, including Siemens and ReSound.

Chloe said: “Other retailers offer a similar hearing test service. This gives local people even more choice and opportunity to access essential services that can improve their day-to-day living standards.”
