The Soroptimist Mansfield and District Club’s AGM was held via Zoom, when the presidency for the year ahead was announced.

Sue Manchester and Julie Howe-Shilton were joint presidents in the past year and Julie will be president for 2021-2022.

Outgoing president Sue Manchester expressed her enjoyment of her year and reflected on the functions held online and that these meetings were the source of most of the funds raised in her joint presidency.

Sue and Julie’s theme for their joint year was ‘spreading kindness not covid’. Sue’s charities for the past year were The Eve Appeal and British Acoustic Neuroma Association.

Julie’s theme for the year ahead is ‘valuing and respecting oneself and others’.

For the second successive year she will be supporting liver transplant/organ donation, Woodland Café at Portland Training College, and Women’s Refuge.
