Mansfield District Council is inviting schools, businesses, residents, conservation and community groups to sign up for this year’s International Clean Up Mansfield Day.
The award-winning annual event, which aims to improve the local environment in Mansfield and other Mansfields across the world, will take place on Friday, 10th June.
Last year’s event was the biggest and most successful yet with more than 50 participants helping to clean up the town as well as Mansfields in the USA and Canada.
Everyone who took part in the event was presented with a certificate and awards were given to the winners of the best clean-up activities.
There are many ways for people to get involved in the 2016 campaign, such as sponsoring an award, planting flowers and trees or carrying out a litter-pick or weeding.
Portfolio holder for the environment at Mansfield District Council, Coun Andrew Tristram, said: “We are asking the people of Mansfield and our friends around the world to repeat last year’s fantastic effort and help us to make this event even bigger and better in 2016.
“The international day brings communities together to improve the environment we live and work in. Sign up now to make Mansfield one of the cleanest places on the planet.”
