Mansfield Market will be celebrating this year’s Love Your Local Market campaign with a fortnight of fun and activities aimed at all the family.
The entertainment, from Tuesday 17 May to Tuesday 31 May, will include a Maypole dancing workshop, a chance to meet furry friends from White Post Farm as well as crocheting sessions with Yankee Yarns.
Throughout the fortnight, shoppers can to pick up an activity sheet, which includes competitions for all ages, plus the chance to win a £20 voucher to spend on the market. Free Mansfield Market re-usable shopping bags will also be given out (subject to availability).
The campaign comes at a time when Mansfield Market has undergone a regeneration project which sees new, improved stalls, more events and new seating and performance areas.
As part of the project the council is offering new traders with new product lines, the opportunity to take up a stall for free for a year as part of its Business Incubation Scheme.
It is also offering one-to-one training to help both new and existing traders develop skills such as selling, product pricing and customer service.
The campaign will include themed markets, too. New and existing businesses selling products with the following themes are welcomed to come along and use Mansfield Market as an outlet for promotion and sales;
Wednesday 18 May: Baby and children’s speciality market selling pre-loved children’s toys, books, clothes and equipment. £6 per stall.
