On Friday, 1st and Saturday, 2nd May, the Four Seasons Shopping Centre in Mansfield will be raising funds for Starlight Children’s Foundation, which helps seriously ill and terminally ill children.
Across the two fundraising days, Four Seasons will be offering activities to shoppers in return for donations.
Retailers and centre staff will be joining in the fun, dressing up in charity T-shirt, tutus and tiaras to match the charity’s fairytale approach.
There will be a dedicated selfie area with a dress-up box and handheld photo frame for shoppers and retailers to take a picture and join in the charity’s #SmileForStarlight digital campaign.
Plus, on Saturday, 2nd May only there will be a cake sale held in the main mall area, along with workshops offering children and their families the opportunity to come down to the centre and decorate star shaped cookies to take home with them for a donation of £1.
Rebekah O’Neill, centre manager, said: “Starlight is a fantastic charity that is very worthy of receiving the donations that we are hoping to raise from the two fundraising days at the centre. We are thrilled to be able to support such as well deserving charity and are really looking forward to the event.
“It is simple and easy to support the charity and at the same time our shoppers and retailers can have fun and create an exciting atmosphere in the centre, whilst giving back and hopefully making a difference. All we ask is for as many as our shoppers to get involved and help the centre raise as much money across the two days as possible!’
Victoria Parry, corporate partnerships manager, at Starlight, said: “We are delighted to have the support of Four Seasons Shopping Centre on Starlight Day. Starlight relies on voluntary donations, and we hope that shoppers and retailers really enjoy the fun and creative activities that the centre is putting on. With their help we will be able to brighten the lives of more seriously and terminally ill Starlight Children in the local area and provide fun and entertainment for children in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK.”
