Ravenshead-based charity the Cornwater Club, which supports older people by providing friendship and activities, is to receive support from shoppers through the Co-op’s community fund.

A local trial of the scheme for staff at Co-op Food in Rainworth and Blidworth, as well as Rainworth Co-op Funeralcare, raised £599 for each of three chosen charities.

Cornwater Club staff and volunteers have visited both food stores to promote the charity’s work.
