Shirebrook care home reaches finals of Great British Care Awards again

Posted onPosted on 3rd Nov

A care home in Shirebrook has reached the finals of the Great British Care Awards for the second successive year running. The team at Richmond Care Home has been shortlisted in three award categories for the 2020 awards.

The prestigious Great British Care Awards recognises excellence in social care and pay tribute to care homes and individuals that have demonstrated excellence in their field of work.

The whole team at Richmond Care Home has been shortlisted for the Putting People First Award. Care home manager, Kate Birch, is a finalist for The Dignity in Care Award, and Natasha Westwood is a finalist for The Care Home Activities Organiser Award. Both Natasha and Kate were finalists at last year’s Great British Care Awards.

Hanif Ladhani, proprietor of the home, said he was proud of the home’s success: “We have an outstanding team of unsung heroes at Richmond. Every member of staff gives an exceptional level of care. I’m delighted that their dedication and kindness has been recognised.”

Kate said: “Our residents are very dear to us, and we will do all we can to protect them. This has been a challenging year for the team, so we are humbled to be shortlisted for so many awards.”

The home, which is currently welcoming new residents, will take part in a virtual judging event in November.
