Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been commended for its commitment to creating safe and secure car parks across its hospitals.

The coveted Park Mark award demonstrates that patients, visitors and staff can be confident of their personal safety and the safety of their vehicle whilst they are on the hospital premises.

Car parking is managed on the Trust’s behalf by Medirest. Under the Park Mark scheme, car parking facilities have been fully risk assessed by the police as providing a high standard of cleanliness, effective security and car park staff visibility, CCTV cameras, signage and good lighting.

Davinder Atwal, of Medirest, said: “This is a great achievement and excellent news for people using our car parks. I would like to congratulate the car parking team for their diligence and hard work that has enabled us to win this award for our facilities.”

Each year the car parking facilities at Newark, Mansfield Community and Kings Mill hospitals will undergo a rigorous risk assessment to ensure that the high standards of the Park Mark award are maintained.

The Trust continues to invest in its car parking facilities at Newark and King’s Mill hospitals, which have also been designed and built to meet British Parking Association standards.
