Seaside trip put in sight!

Posted onPosted on 5th Sep

FAMILIES and friends in Ashfield enjoyed a day out at the seaside thanks to an opticians.

Specsavers in the Idlewells Shopping Centre, Sutton, paid for a coach to take 230 residents to Scarborough for the day. It also donated more than 100 goody bags to keep children entertained on the journey.

The trip was run by Teversal Visitors Centre, a volunteer-run cafe and community space, to give local families the opportunity to have a summer’s day out at the seaside.

Debbie Halfpenny, centre manager, who is pictured with Specsavers’ Sam Best and some of the goody bags, said: “We are very grateful to Specsavers Sutton for their generous sponsorship. Their support has made a significant difference in making this trip possible, and everyone who attended had a fantastic day out in the sunshine.”

Specsavers store manager Lisa Sharpe, who organised the sponsorship, added: “We were thrilled to be able to support the Teversal Visitors Centre and contribute to this wonderful day out for local families.

“At Specsavers, we believe in giving back to our community and helping to create memorable experiences.”
