Sutton Rotary Club has honoured the principal of Academy Transformation Trust Further Education (ATTFE), based in the town.

Liz Barrett has been presented with the Fred Shepperson Trophy, which is chosen by the Rotary Club Council of Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The club council said Liz was a unanimous winner for her community work with the club.

This includes being the chair of community service, organising a community sleigh programme, organising a ‘thank you’ meeting for the sleigh volunteers and setting up a community action fund, which determines the donations the club makes to community groups.

More recently, Liz has been involved closely with the club’s foodbank scheme, which has led to the Rotary club obtaining two district grants to provide help for local community needs.
