Romo Community Fund returns

Posted onPosted on 21st Jun

Sutton-based textile and wallcovering business Romo is continuing its work to give back to the community.

The Romo Group, a family-run business, has extended its community fund for a third year.

Now charities and smaller grassroots organisations in Mansfield and Ashfield are being urged to apply for up to £9,000 funding.

Last year among the recipients was Ravenshead-based charity Cornwater Evergreens, which received £4,500 from the Romo Group Community Fund (above) towards its activities programme at friendship and memory groups for older people.

The theme for this year’s fund applications is projects that benefit families and/or children.

Romo is working in partnership with Nottinghamshire Community Foundation (NCF) to launch the community fund again, and its employees will be involved in selecting the causes chosen to receive grants, volunteer time, and gifts in kind.

As a successful local company, Romo directors said they recognised that supporting the community helps both their staff, their wellbeing, and the firm.

Previous recipients of help include Ashfield Voluntary Action, Cornwater Evergreen, and The Freedom Foundation.

The closing date for applications is 14th August.

Nottinghamshire Community Foundation works with local companies, families and individuals to help them give to local projects and to ensure 100% of their generosity stays local.
