A group of community-minded ramblers are turning their hands to litter-picking to help keep Mansfield clean.
The five friends, members of Mansfield and Sherwood Ramblers, cleared litter along a three-mile stretch of the Timberland Trail.
They filled six bags of rubbish on a particularly soggy day and hope to complete a litter-pick each month.
The litter-pickers included Sharron Hartshorn, who took the photo above, Alexandra Ellis, Eileen Mathews and Niall McClintock.
Sharron said: “We are saving a record of the miles we complete on our way to the magic 100-mile litterpick.
“It’s our mission to help keep Mansfield appealing by cleaning up our green spaces and walks.
The group’s Christmas Glitter Litter-Pick is on Sunday, 11th December, meeting at 11am outside Mill Waters Cafe, King’s Mill Reservoir. The two-mile family walk will include dogs, pushchairs, and wheelchairs. Anyone wanting to take part must book a place by texting 07988 756095.
The next family walk and litter-pick is on Sunday, 13th November at 11am, meeting at The Mill Waters Cafe. All are welcome, but you must text to register at 07988 756095.
