The winner of a Card for the Queen competition in Mansfield has been revealed.

As part of the seventieth anniversary of the Queen’s coronation, students and young artists from across Mansfield were invited to design a card for the Queen to celebrate.

The winning design was sent to Buckingham Palace and the entries displayed in a special exhibition at Mansfield Museum.

The winner of the competition was Cosmo, from Newlands Junior School, Forest Town, pictured with Mansfield MP Ben Bradley and Peeyansh, who came second at Newlands.

Ben: “I really enjoyed judging the entries for Mansfield’s part in the Card for the Queen competition. There were plenty of really creative designs that showed off the best of our country and the best of Mansfield.

“It was clear from the designs that there are plenty of budding young artists in our area and some fantastic artistic talent. As such it was very difficult to narrow the designs down to just one winner.

“I want to congratulate Cosmo from Newlands Junior School for winning the competition. I sent the design to Buckingham Palace a few weeks ago and I am sure it’s adorning a shelf in Buckingham Palace as we speak!”
