Year 5 and 6 children at St Mary’s Church of England Primary School in Edwinstowe worked with graffiti artists James Mayle and Emma Chippendale, from IMAGESKOOL, to create a cheerful mural.
Headteacher Jennie Bailey said: “We were delighted when we heard that Newark and Sherwood Council was funding this project and would like to thank them for providing this experience for our pupils.
“Not only did the children thoroughly enjoy their time with the artists, but it has cheered up our school building.
“We are committed to providing exciting experiences for our children and this was one to remember! By working with Emma and James, they have created something meaningful to all of us.
“It was the perfect way to reinvigorate that part of the school, and we hope it will be a cheerful addition to our outdoor space for many years to come.”
The mural has flowers, a book, and the school motto — Love, Learn and Flourish.
James said: “The children were so enthusiastic and polite.
“They were buzzing about the result, and we hope they enjoy the mural for years to come.”
