The Bramble Academy, Mansfield Woodhouse, part of The Evolve Trust, took year four and five children to the Space Centre, Leicester.

The children worked in teams. One team was “sent into space” and tried to locate a comet, carrying out tests, collecting data and assembling a probe.

The other team acted as mission control, working in pairs on specific tasks, including medical, navigation and communications.

The children watched a film on a big dome screen and visited the space museum.
