One of the UK’s leading providers of apprenticeships and work-based training has donated Christmas gifts and visited the children’s wards of hospitals local to its South Normanton head office, as it aims to give something back to the surrounding community.

The senior management staff at Positive Outcomes visited and donated a collection of gifts to the children’s wards at the Royal Derby Hospital, Kings Mill Hospital at Sutton and Nottingham’s Children’s Hospital.

Positive Outcomes’ staff in all regions contributed to the cause, which saw £1,400’s worth of presents distributed amongst the children, with each hospital getting five sacks of presents each, which was more than enough for one per child.

Ryan Longmate, managing director of Positive Outcomes, said: “We’re a people-driven organisation, and it’s very important to us to make sure we give back to the communities that are local to us. Unfortunately, there are a lot of children who’ll be spending their Christmas in hospital this year, so we wanted to see what we could do for them to improve their stay.”

He continued: “We’ve had a great response from our staff and the entire team has been involved. They’ve done a brilliant job and we are really impressed with their efforts and would like to thank them for it. They all put forward their suggestions and tried to come up with ideas for gifts that they thought would delight the children. It’s a great feeling to be able to put a smile on the faces of the children and staff and we had some great presents that the kids really loved.

“Christmas is a time of giving. The staff at these hospitals do a fantastic job, supporting not just ill children but worried parents too. We wanted to bring some festive cheer to the children’s wards and put a smile on the faces of the staff, children and parents during what can be a very difficult time of year for some people.”
