Poetry festival to get under way

The Inspire Poetry Festival 2019 starts on Monday, 23rd September and runs until Saturday 28th.

This year’s line-up features celebrated poetry stars including Patience Agbabi, Raymond Antrobus, Colette Bryce, George Szirtes, Wendy Cope and Jacob Polley, crime writer and poet John Harvey and regional talents Nafeesa Hamid and Andrew Graves.

It celebrates the anthology of the Voices exhibition with a free launch event, and local poets and groups are also getting involved in the festival: Paper Crane Poets in Beeston and Hexameter and Alison Chippindale in Southwell.

The popular workshops for writers and readers of poetry are running in all Poetry Festival libraries during the week and some still have spaces.
