There was plenty of fun and fundraising happening on Friday (18 November) at West Nottinghamshire College as staff and students did their bit for Children in Need.

With the cash still coming in, the college has raised over £450 through a range of activities.

From cake sales to cookie baking, students got into the Pudsey bear theme with spotted, baked designs.

Beauty therapy students provided mini treatments such as waxing, manicures and facials for just a £2 donation.

The Students’ Union tea society warmed up the tea pots for a tea tasting morning and joinery students at the construction campus sold bird boxes which they had created.

The sport development team set up a number of activities including a basketball shootout, target game, an inflatable driving range and a penalty shootout. Students were asked to donate what they could for a try of each game.

Business student Kyron Caunt won the longest drive in the golf challenge with a distance of 245 yards.

Kyron said: “I feel my drive was a bit lucky, but Phil from Coxmoor Golf Club who guided me is a great coach and he helped me improve through my attempts. It was really great to see something a bit different being done for raising money for Children in Need.”

Sport maker Robert Pearce said: “It was great to see more than 150 students get involved with our activities for Children in Need. We raised over £50 on the games and it proved to be an interesting focal point.”
