Friends of Yeoman Hill Park, Mansfield Woodhouse, were joined by pupils and staff from the Manor Academy to plant a copper beech tree, funded by the Greenwood Partnership, to create additional shade overlooking the 1930s art deco bandstand.
The group then planted fruit and nut trees, provided by Mansfield District Council, to create a park orchard.
Corinna Brown, vice-chairman of the friends group, said: “We are pleased the students helped us.
“We hope they come back to the park to watch them grow as they grow up.”
