Residents from a Forest Town street put on a social distancing talent show from their individual drives to boost community spirit during the coronavirus lockdown.

Local vocal harmony duo Russ Stevens and Bradley Knight organised the event and said they could not believe how much talent there was on Halstead Close.

It all started with a Facebook page — Halstead’s Got Talent — and even saw Simon Cowell helping to judge the acts with resident Sue Bacon.

Local community police officer Richard Cutt was impressed with the way the event was carried out as all residents adhered to government and NHS guidelines.

Acts involved included vocalists Stevens and Knight, alongside guitarist Tom Scott, (above) who started proceedings with uplifting songs.

Luke Stirland-Fell performed football skills, while Cara McAdam displayed doggy dancing and agility with Lilly.

Thomas Boath sang Dance Monkey, sisters Annabelle and Maltida Roebuck did gymnastics and daring BMX stunts, guitarist William Love performed a solo and female vocalist Annabelle Page sung.

Dancers, Jessica Harrison and Erin Harper did individual dance routines and Poppy Hickman performed an Abba tribute.

The event was completed by resident DJ Ashley Taylor, who rounded off the fun with music for all to dance to on their driveways.

With the help of video footage taken by everyone, a 25-minute episode of the final has been created to give all the participants a souvenir of the day .
